The third component in the corridor alongside interoperability and infrastructure is the total service concept.

The heard of the concept are core requirements from the EU regulation concerning capacity and timetable management as well as traffic quality and performance management. This European regulation serves to harmonise and standardise the key business processes involved in European rail freight transport. All relevant participants are involved, i.e. the infrastructure managers as well as railway undertakings and terminal operators which are connected through Advisory Boards.
